About Time, Damn it.

Wow.  Friggin' haven't blogged since October and here I am, back again.

Lots of stuff been happening lately.  Got myself back to school at CSUF, trying to angle my way into the history grad school program.  Right now I'm taking a course on historical theory, which isn't as dry as one might suspect.  On a whim, took the C-BEST test and passes :), which now entitles me the ability to substitute teach, which may be happening at my old high school.  Wacky, I know, but hey, it's better money then what I'm making at Barnes & Noble.   What else, haven't seen any friends lately, we've all been busy, but hopefully I'll see Julie B. tomorrow, we're going to see the ballet Alice in Wonderland at the Plummer Auditorium in Fullerton.

Okay, on a caffeine rush I shouldnt be on, so more later :O

He's Dead, Jim.

Yep, pretty much.

I think Star Trek has had it.  Why?  Cause even though I'm a serious Trekker, I missed the season preimer of Enterprise.  And I don't care.  Which I thought would never happen.  I just watched the clip for next week's episode and I didn't get excited at all.  Even with TNG cast member Brent Spiner guest-starring in a week.  Damn it.  I want Captain Picard back.

A Whole New World...

Yep, the Aladdin DVD came out this week? :)

Got it yet?

Why not?  GO GET IT!
Minus the whole Jessica Simpson/Nick Lachley "Whole New World" video, the DVD's really good, and the behind the scenes features are pretty cool.  I really like the aborted song, it's too bad it couldnt fit in the movie after they axed using Aladdin's mom in the movie.

Anyway, short blog entry yes, but at least it's something :P

I've been busy :)

I Hate Lavender....

I really, really hate that smell.

If Jake or Joy is reading this, they know that I do :)  Jake had a lavender candle to get the "funky" smell out of our dorm room, and I HATED IT.  I know, I know, as any guy would with a bachelors in english, that hate is a strong, strong word.  Let me repeat myself. HATE IT! :)  Luckly, Jake/Joy wised up to my hatred of the candle and bought a new candle for me :)

Why'd I just write this remarkable memory?  Well, for one thing, my dad just popped out a lavender smelly thing for my bathroom, cause he thinks it smells in there (Stop.  Don't even think about that tangent. :P).  Oh well, guess me and lavender must continue our struggle to the death.  And I will win, cause there so many better smelling things out there, like.....well, gosh darn it, I'm a guy, I don't know about things like this, I just have an opinion!

Anyway, must go, I'm now a self-confessed Everwood junkie and must get my fix with my DVD set of Season One.  Or maybe I'll reduce myself to my college years with Beast Wars Season Three.  Or I could do both.....

Choices, choices....what to do.

Out of the loop....

Hmmmm, haven't written anything in a while because there really wasn't anything exciting to write about until today.

Basically, the impetues of this blog entry was my friend Paula leaving town today.  Why'd she leave town?  I dunno.  Well, that's a half-lie.  I do know a overlaying reason, but not anything nitty-gritty, which puts me at ill-ease over her leaving.  And the only other person I could ask has been terrible at getting back to me, which is most likely cause she busy with school, but honestly...

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!?!

Jesus, you'd think people would talk to me, I have how many methods of contact?

<sigh>Actually, I'm not mad, I'm just majorly frustrated.  Not like it's the first time I've been out of loops with people, but jeez, when it's people I care about and am good friends with, I expect different...

On a side (and much more serene)note, we had a visit at work from the #3 guy in the company.  And he loved the friggin' store, which is so much validation for not only us, but for my boss, especially, whom went from being the bastard child of the district to the one whom now is being looked to for how to run a bookstore.  So it's charged the atmosphere at work, and we're all pushing to keep improving on it.

Never, ever, ever....

....put your manager's keys on the escalator so the guy on the other floor can give them to her.

They might, as was the case in this example, not get picked up in time and then proceed to jam up said escalator.

And before any of you lamebrains ask, I was not the one who didnt grab them.  But I was the one who put them on.  We did manage to get 4 of the 5 keys out from under the grate, but the one still-missing/stuck key happened to be the front door key.  So my manager had to call another manager to lock up the store(we could get out on our own, but the in-store set doesn't let you lock it from the outside).

<Sigh> Perfect way to end the freakin day.  Oh well, hopefully the damage isn't too extensive.

Least I have tomorrow off.

I hate hate hate....

Working the closing shift all weekend.

Now don't get me wrong, I understand as a business, B&N is open for so many hours and its not right that I dont close at all, but god I hate it.  I'm such a morning person anyway :)  Oh well, least I have tomorrow off, and I work pretty much all mornings except for Saturday this week.

What I wouldn't give for a M-F 9-5 job.  :)

Took a while, but...

finally able to update.

Well, so far nothing exciting this week in my life, did the typical comic book store thing yesterday and have gone to class twice this week.  Probably won't go tonight, as I'm really tired from work, but I'll try and go tomorrow morning.

Picked up the Babylon 5 movie boxed set, so I can watch the four movies over and over, although I bummed that Legend of the Rangers: Babylon 5 was left out... G'Kar was great in that movie, and I liked the Ranger guy that got introduced.  Sad thing is, WB is working on a new movie, but actor Richard Biggs, who played Dr. Franklin on the show died a while back from some sort of blood clot.  So while it will be great to see Sheridan and company on the big screen, it's sad we will never see Franklin again.

Anyway, off to play some Final Fantasy X...

It's Comic Book Day!

But you all knew that :)

Anyway, nothing spectacular going on right now, but since I haven't posted a blog in a while, here we go:

I picked up Soulfire #1, New X-Men HC Vol 3, Marvel Knights Spider-Man #5, JLA #103, and Avengers/Thunderbolts #6.  The hardcover rocks, and it's nice to finally have the entire Grant Morrison New X-Men run.  MK Spider-Man was good, Spidey's dealing with having no money, and no leads on who took Aunt May.  Soulfire looked interesting as a preview, and I'm glad the book itself held up.  Looks promising, and I like both the writer and artist.

Also picked up Kill Bill Vol.2 and The Best of Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog.  KB is awesome, and the ending was perfect.  Triumph is Conan O'Brien's funny insulting dog, and the DVD collects his most outrageous escapades from the infamous JLo MTV incident to confronting Simon Cowell head on.  Simon may have met his match :).

Voyager Season 3

Finally picked up Star Trek: Voyager Season 3.  I actually forgot about all the good episodes and stuff that happened on the show in the third season.  There's the Kes "backward time" episode, the Dinosaur Space Empire one, and of course, the introduction of the Borg to Voyager, which meant a specific actress is only a season away.  Also, Seska was even around to cause trouble for the crew post-death.  Only sad thing about this season is that it's also Kes' last time as a regular

Now if only someone could get Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman out on DVD, I'd be able to watch both Jeri Ryan and Teri Hatcher.....
